The Sims™ 2: Super Collection App Reviews

Amazing.

This is the best game ever. Sure, it took a LIFETIME to download but it still did and I have to say it’s better than I imagined! At first, I was a little scared to try it out due to really bad reviews about how it didnt work and such but I decided to give it a go for old times sake and it turns out it works just fine. Thank you so much for bringing the game back!

Things went smoothly here.

I was hesitant after reading the previous reviews outlining numerous problems with downloading or getting the game to start. However, I had no issues getting the game downloaded and going and wanted to add a positive review reflecting that. As for the product itself, it’s fantastic! I’ve been a Sims fan since the original. My favorite part about this offering is, of course, the native Mac version and all the included expansion packs. But possibly the greatest perk in my books is that it no longer requires me to keep a disc in my laptop bag if I want to play! Hopefully we see a similar offering for the Sims 3 down the road! I’d buy.

Awesome.. But could use more stuff packs

The game downloaded great and works perfectly for me. But I was a little disappointed that there weren’t as many stuff packs included in the download. The furniture, decor, and clothing are seriously lacking in style and quantity. It would be nice if they added a few more stuff packs in the future. Overall, the game is great and I am addicted yet again to the Sims 2, thanks to this app.

Good So Far...

I have seen a couple comments complaining about performance (how the game won’t even download/start) but I haven’t had any of these problems myself yet. The game runs great and I’m really impressed with the performance on my late 2011 13.3 inch macbook pro i5. I am a huge sims fan and this was the only main release of the sims that I missed so it was nice to dive into it. Maybe I got lucky with no problems concerning the performance, but because I haven’t been experiencing problems, I have nothing to complain about. The game itself is spectacular and with all of the expansion packs, you will be busy for months.

PROBLEM OPENING THE GAME!

I BEEN TRYING TO DOWNLOAD THIS GAME FOR 2 WEEKES NOW… EVERYTHIME IT DOWNLOADS TELLS ME THE GAME IS DAMAGE AND NEEDS TO BE DELETE AND INSTALLED AGAIN!…. THIS IS RIDICULOUS .. I NEED A SOLUTION, OR JUST THE MONEY BACK! THANKS.

AWESOME Thankyou!

Wow, I love this game, it’s perfect. No laggs, working way better than my sims 3 LOL. Thanks for thinking of us Mac users too :) PERFECT!

Works great!

I don’t know why everyone’s saying that there are technical problems with the game. It works perfectly fine for me on a 2013 Macbook Air. The only problems I can find so far is that when making a new sim and designing their face, there are some unfixed bugs that make the face look really awkward. Althought I don’t really consider it as something that big of a deal. I’ve always been a big fan of the Sims and I only ever played the sims 3 which I love. So I decided to take a chance and try an older version. And I love it! I think it may even be better than the sims 3 :D I just wish that you can walk around town like the one in the sims 3. Can’t wait until sims 4 is made available for Mac! 5 stars!

WONT DOWNLOAD

ahhh I just want to play this game, but it wont download!! Ive tried at least 4 times already, did anyone elses download right away or did it take a few tries?! and if so how long and what did you do?

Quick early impressions.

I was hesitant to purchase this after seeing the number of 1 star reviews complaining about performance or the game not even running at all but I’m glad I took the chance. Again just a reminder that this is only my early impressions, I wanted to share my experience to remove any doubt any others may be having about downloading after reading the poor reviews thus far. I’m running this on a late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro (13”). The initial download is pretty large but with my high speed internet it was downloaded and installed in a short period of time. After the install was completed the game launched and played without any issues whatsoever. The game ran as smooth as butter on default settings. I created a couple families and a few different sims so far and am pleased wtih what I’ve played up to this point. At this point the only downside I can see is how some may view this collection as incomplete. It is missing two of the expansions, Free Time and Apartment Life, both of which I believe were the last two expansions to be released. After viewing the trailers for each I don’t feel too let down knowing I won’t have the chance to play them. There are something like 6 “Stuff” packs that are missing from this collection as well but the fact that you can create custom content or download content created by other users helps ease the blow (although I have yet to test this myself). I must say though, that Ikea Home Stuff pack does look pretty nice. One other minor complaint I have is there is no instructions, no digital manual included that I can manage to find. Not a huge issue though as the game does have a built in tutorial I just wish they had a more details in their menus so I know what different options did before making adjustments. I can see any fan of The Sims being quite pleased with this collection assuming they haven’t already played The Sims 2 to death that is. Others who are not familiar with the series or like myself have played nothing past the first game I think would be very pleased with this collection and find many countless hours quickly passing while customizing your home and managing your Sims daily activities. I may definitely return to post further impressions as I sink more time into the game but Just know that these 1 star reviews are in no way an inidication that this game is unplayable. I suggest you check your system settings carefully and read the discription in its entirety prior to making the purchase and installing to ensure compatibility. This is a fantastic collection for the price. UPDATE: Just installed the update and surprising something I asked their support team about has been addressed (unlikely as a result of my inquiry but still nice to see it has been addressed). The game has a "Smooth Edges” option which previously did not work with my MacBook Pro, I believe their response to me was something along the lines of it wasn’t compatible with my system. In any event I see that I’m now able to select this option which is a great little addition. Thanks team, love the game.

Fun

I too was extramely hesitant to download this game due to the other reviews I’ve read here. I have never enjoyed playing a game more I like the way I can escape in a world of make believe to recharge myself back to reality.

Keyboard Controls!

I really love the game, and it was going really well for me until suddenly my keyboard controls for the game just stopped working!!! I don’t know what the problem is, and I looked through the internet to find a solution! It’s more annoying now to play the game itself without the keyboard controls, if that’s fixed then this game is awesome! Lol. :)

AWESOME…..BUT….

i love this game i have missed playing it when my windows garbage bit the bullet. runs great on my macbook air but my biggest proplem is that i would love for all the expansion and stuff packs to be included. you NEED to make it an update to add all the others to the game.

Good game!

I am a huge sims fan! I recently switched from pc to mac, so I gave up my sims 3 and 4 to get this game. I impressed with the graphics and how fast the game loads. I would highly reccommend this game to anyone! (Though, I find my battery drains extremely quickly when I am playing.)

More extansions

I love this game on a PC and I love that we could now put it on our IMacs. The only thing i think they should put is all the extensions because why would you call it the “Ultimate Collection” when they’re is only some of the games… Anyways, I’m still very happy to have bought it!!!

MBA users, Try it

I was also hesitant to download this game, but I am glad I took the chance. It is awesome, runs smoothly and fast with very little glitches (and I have a lot of custom contents/hacks/mods). I am playing on a MacBook Air Late 2014. The only thing that was below the requirements was the MBA’s 1.4 Ghz dual core processor, but the game runs great (with a mix of low/medium and few high graphics specs on the game). If it gets a little too hot and you hate (like I do) the slightest fan noise, juste make sure you cool it off for a bit and you will be fine.

Problems with custom contents and Body Shop

Hi guys, I bought this game a few months ago. I was satisfied at first, but since I started downloading a lot of custom stuff on internet the games starts crashing, I have to go to my Downloads folder and take everything I’ve recently downloaded to find out with custom content is causing the problem. Now, my game refuses to work since yesterday evening even though I took off all the custom content I downloaded. I got sick of it and told myself ‘’Well, looks like I’ll have to make my custom contents myself’’ but I got a real bad surprise when I opened the body shop : nothing is working. Even with the base content of the game, I cannot modify anything. I’m really disappointed, going to try to write to Aspyr to see what the problem is… anyways, think twice before you buy this product

Great!

As a long time lover of the Sims, im glad this came out for the Mac. Although it is unlikely, I would really like to see the Apartment Life extension added in a future update. Gameplay works fantastic on my Macbook Pro. Only issue I’m currently having is that every so often ‘you are using an illegal copy of this game’ appears and force quits the game on me and I lose any unsaved progress. If this could be fixed it’d be great! Thanks!

Total waste of money.

I have no idea what these five star “Love It” reviews are playing, but it can’t be the game I just wasted money on. Sims Freeplay is 100x better, which is in itself disappointing. Promises of “enhanced” and “improved” are tremendously exaggerated. The opening montage takes forever to get through (and those graphics are delightful but get old after three times); the tutorial is exasperating; the sims themselves are about as funny as a crutch; and the end result is a game that ought only to be appealing to 8 year olds (from the ‘90s) but which, oddly, is thematically relevant to an audience much older. Waste.Of.Money. This should be a $4.99 (maximum) purchase.

Always great!

The SimCity and The Sims collections are a classic! No matter which of the games you have, you will undoubtedly love it for life. Great game, runs amazing on my Macbook Pro w/Retina (mid 2014) 3 GHz Intel Core i7 | 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 | Intel Iris 1536 MB. I haven’t tested the whole thing, it was a decent price to pay on SALE, would have enjoyed paying less, but still I am enjoying it!

The game cannot launch

i’m very dispointed the cannot lauch on my iMac 2013 8gb of ram
